    Description: This is information and the logo for Save The youth Inc, created by the organization in 1994 using combination of public domain characters. Since it was founded in 1994 by Eugene Edwards, a research scientist at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Save The Youth (an IRS 501 C (3) organization) has offered programs for disadvantaged and at-risk youth in life skills, educational support, cultural expression, and drug awareness.

    Their present location in Bessemer (Alabama), 211 19th Street N, was donated to them by Kendall Engineering. Over 150 children participate in Save The Youth programs at the 19th Street location during any given week.

    "I saw that something really important was missing, things not currently available to youth," Eugene Edwards explained. "The community’s emphasis on athletics was great, but it needed to be supplemented with tutoring, mentoring, life skills and education to give these kids the best chance to succeed."
