    Saayoni Ghosh is an Indian Bengali film and television actress currently serving as a Member of Parliament representing Jadavpur parliamentary constituency. She is also a singer[1] and a politician.[2] Her acting debut was with a telefilm Ichhe Dana,[3] and her first appearance on the big screen was with a short role in the film Notobor Notout. She then shared the screen with some veteran actors in Raj Chakraborty's Shotru, and later played a carefree journalist role in Raj Chakraborty's daily serial Proloy Asche.[4] She has played lead roles in the films Kanamachi, Antaraal, Ekla Cholo, Amar sahor, Bitnoon, Mayer Biye, Rajkahini.[1] She came into limelight in politics in January 2021. She joined Trinamool Congress on 24 February 2021.

    In March 2021, she was announced to be Trinamool Congress’s candidate for the Asansol South constituency in the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. But, she was defeated by BJP's candidate Agnimitra Paul.[5]

    Sayantani Ghosh (born 6 September 1983) is an Indian actress known for her work in Hindi television serials.[2][3] In 2012, she also participated in Bigg Boss 6.[4]

    Early life and career

    Sayantani Ghosh won the Miss Calcutta beauty pageant and found roles in Bengali films before obtaining her first television role in 2002, in the Indian soap opera Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan.[5][3]

    After four years in that supporting role she joined the main cast ofNaaginn – Waadon Ki Agniparikshaa as Amrita for two years. The Same year, she played the lead role of Kakul Samman Chaudhary in Ghar Ek Sapnaa.[6] Followed by the guest role of Prosecutor Pranali Gujral on Adaalat. Ghosh participated in the sixth season of Bigg Boss 6, the Indian version of UK reality show Big Brother,[5] and was evicted from the house in the third week.
