Simon Monjack laid to rest next to wife Brittany Murphy in the Hollywood Hills

Five months after the death of his wife Brittany Murphy, Simon Monjack was granted his final wish yesterday as he was laid to rest next to her.

Around 75 family and friends gathered in Los Angeles to pay their respects to the English screenwriter, who died aged 39 on Sunday from a suspected heart attack.

Murphy's mother Sharon, who found Monjack unconscious at the LA home he shared with his late wife, paid tribute to her son-in-law at the orthodox Jewish ceremony.
